Abstract

|
An improved intrasplenic ovarian implantation technique provides 100% of tumor formation in the castrated rats. In 3 groups of rats, ovarian intrasplenic transplants were made. One group received a low dose of azathioprine for 6 months, a second group received a high ,dose for 6 months, and the third group was untreated control. All rats in each group !´developed tumors with in one month. In the low dose azathioprine group, tumor growth was significantly retarded compared to either the control or the high dose group However, if there was no significant difference between the control and the high dose group.
